Description
A short story: The Witching Hour
I do wish I would have never agreed to the invitation. The sun had set by now and it became eerie and even darker than most nights that I recently remembered. The driveway to the house was a long and winding road. As I approached he house, it seemed strange how old and dark it was inside. I opened up the large door and I slowly walked up the creaky old staircase to the third floor. Now in my assigned bedroom, I moved about to unpack my small bag. The floor felt unsteady and creaked beneath my feet. I hear banging noises coming from either downstairs or perhaps it was coming from the outside. My insides felt as though they were freezing with the painful bite of fear. There was no light in the room and I could feel that my stomach was churning.
I climbed into the old iron bed and snuggled close to the blanket as I nearly covered my head. I could hear that the clock chimed midnight. I needed to get some sleep as my eyes became heavy. I panicked as I heard strange noises. I was so frightened that suddenly sat upright in bed. The noises were coming from inside the closet! It was a scraping sound as if someone was trying to get out! What could it be?
